Barr Hall Barns are 18th Century period cottages in an outstanding tranquil location with panoramic views across Strangford Lough to the Mourne Mountains.
We are based just outside the seaside village of Portaferry, at the very southern tip of the Ards Peninsula, overlooking Barr Hall Bay which is protected by the National Trust.
With idyllic walking routes right at our doorstep, come escape to an area of natural outstanding beauty and enter the truly magical setting of Barr Hall Barns.

The Barn

The Ards Peninsula
A Special Place to Stay
Barr Hall Barns are situated on the southern tip of the Ards Peninsula 3.5 miles south of Portaferry and overlook Barr Hall Bay which is protected by the National Trust. It is a seal basking location. The Barns also look out onto the Narrows and the Barmouth. The surrounding shoreline is managed by the National Trust. On the other side lies the Lecale area and views from the site stretch to the Mourne Mountains in clear weather.
Strangford Lough has the following EU approved important designations: Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, Special Area of Conservation, Special Protection Area, Area of Special Scientific Interest, Marine Conservation Zone and is also the winter home of approximately 15-20,000 Brent Geese from Northern Canada plus numerous other types of waders.
